Most contractor sites are quietly broken

The check

I look before I pitch

Before I say a word about building anything, I run your site through the same checks a customer's browser and mail server run. It takes about a minute and it costs you nothing. Here is a real one, from a Denver remodeler.

Broken The email on the contact page pointed at a domain nobody owned. It had been printed on a live site for about 19 months. Every quote request sent through it bounced back to the sender.
Broken The project gallery was stock photography. Sixteen images of other people's work on a page selling their own.
Broken The city was never named. Not on the home page, not on services. Nothing for a local search to hold onto.
Fixed He fixed the address the same day. That one is free and I will tell you how to do it yourself. The rest is what I build.

A website that just sits there is a brochure. The other half is the plumbing behind it: the small jobs you keep doing by hand, wired up so they do themselves. Everything below is running in production right now on the platform I built for over a hundred church websites. Same plumbing, different trade.
